Hello Mukesh,

Before starting with how to become a forensic scientist, you must know what is the job of a Forensic Scientist. Forensic Science is a disciple of science used to analyze the physical crimes and its evidence. Forensic scientists work for local, state and government levels. A forensic scientist or a forensic science expert must be skilled and have an interest in interpreting scientific evidence and data.

For becoming a forensic scientist you must complete his 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate, then only you can apply for the 3-4 year course of B.Sc in forensic science. The course curriculum includes the subjects like Criminal Procedure and Evidence, Crime Victim Studies, Constitutional Issues in Criminal Procedures, Fingerprint Analysis, Crime Scene Investigation, and Theories of Crime Causation etc. Students with a bachelor’s degree in Forensic science hold entry-level positions like forensic science technician, crime scene investigator, or forensic pathologist with an average salary of Rs 3 – 4 lakhs per annum.

Then, you may pursue M.Sc in P.H.D. in forensic science if you wish to.

Hope this satisfies your query, any feedback or further queries are heartily welcomed.

Can I do this course I completed bipc is there is best to get job quickly are not and how much time it requires any qualifications and colle

Saba 21st Apr, 2019

Hi Koramutla.

Congratulations for completing Class 12 with Science. I'm unable to fully understand your query from the your question and would request you to mention it more clearly.

From what i can guess, it seems that you are asking about the couses available that would help you to secure a job as early as possible. Well, in that case, ther's no such course that can guarantee a job at the earliest but there are courses that requires a Bachelor's degree for entry level positions. B. Com, BCA Computer Application), B. Sc. IT, etc are some of them that requires 3 years for its completion and you can get employed with a Bachelor's degree.

For any other query, feel free to ask in the comment section.

Have a good day!

Vishakha Khandelwal 3rd Apr, 2019

Hello Bishal,

Some states do stipulate a bond for their clinical branches. For example, State of Karnataka stipulates a three year bond for clinical branches of surgery, gynaecolog and paediatrics.

However the same varies from state to state. Some states might have a bond for forensic medicine.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

What is the path of being forensic scientist?

Deepshikha Student Expert 5th Feb, 2019

Hey,

Forensic science is a very interesting field which gives you opportunity to convert clues into evidence. It indeed is challenging where you get to work hand in hand with the police and detectives.

Forensic scientists apply scientic techniques and principles to investigate crimes. They collect traces of blood, hair, fingerprint or anything from the scene of crime and using scientific technology find evidences which can be used in a court of law.

To become a forensic scientist, you need a graduate degree in relevant subjects like physics, chemistry, zoology, botany, biochemistry,

B.pharma etcetera with atleast first division after which one can get enrolled in the institutions which offer Masters in Forensic science. But if you want to become a specialist who conducts post-mortems on dead bodies, one must secure a MBBS degree and then go for an MD in Forensic Science.

Opportunities for forensic scientists exist in government organizations like Intelligence Bureau,CBI and as investigative officers in the crime cells of state police services.

Hope this helps.
