Students need to obtain qualifying scores in this competitive exam. The admissions are then given on the basis of a centralised admission system. The admission criterion depends on the eligibility as well as scores depending on the candidates’ caste. In 2021, the cutoff for BTech Computer Science and Engineering was 4104, for BTech Electrical Engineering it was 8544, for BTech Mathematics and Computing it was 5756, and for BTech Mechanical Engineering it was 12001.
Candidates aspiring to acquire a doctoral degree from IIT Goa need to apply through the fellowship programme portal for admission through PMRF and ASEAN fellowships. Aspirants also have to appear for a written test and clear the test in order to acquire admission. Further, the students have to appear for an interview for shortlisting of candidates Admission will be granted to the students on the basis of the marks obtained in the written test, the personal interview, institute level document verification and payment of fees.
For GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates: B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) with a minimum of 60% marks OR CPI of 6.0 out of 10.0 (or proportional on another scale) OR a first Class as specified by the university awarding qualifying degree. For SC/ST/PWD candidates: B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) with a minimum of 55% marks OR CPI of 5.5 out of 10.0 (or proportional on another scale). Admission in Master Degree program is based on the valid GATE score
