If you have any query then feel free to ask!!
Hi Ezhil,
1) In TNEA counselling the seats are first filled in the open category, There are chances that the candidates might have got the seat allocated in general category. Also the the total allocation for SCA category is around 3% of the total colleges under anna university.
2) The cutoff rank for ST is lower compared to other categories, the candidate would have opted for other courses (preferably a circuit branch) since the courses you have mentioned required lower cutoff ranks even for the open category.
The common fact is that the rate of engineering admissions have decreased in 2019 compared to the previous years, this can be even one of the reasons the seats weren't filled.
hi,

Dear Aspirant,
Manufacturing Engineering is a specialized branch of mechanical engineering. It comprises of subjects like metal sheet forming, Metal forming,Advance Welding technique, Advance machining, CNC programming and thesis. It deals with manufacturing things out of scratch. Developing tools and technologies of the future.
As of now there is slowdown in manufacturing sector and therefore there ain't many jobs in this sector however, the slowdown in temporary and you can expect good job opportunity in the years to come.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
Hello Sorabh
It is directly or indirectly related with ME. So
If you like thermal, apply for ME, If you don't like thermal apply for PI.
In other terms, if you like manufacturing and management - apply for PI.
You must know that seats for ME in IIT's are 900+ whereas for Manufacturing and production it is around 150+ only.
hello aspirant,
a b.tech final year or pass out student can apply in gate from any stream. even a mechanical engineer can opted for computer science engineering branch. however the preparation is only depends on you that how well can you prepare. now coming to your point, you may apply in gate from mechanical engineering branch, but the psu's only hires for b.tech in mechanical degree holder candidates. and for manufacturing engineering there is very low vacancy. but you can use your gate score and can pursue m.tech from top institution.
hope you may understand.
Hello,
I am not able to understand your question. From what i have understood a student from other branches are also applying when their branches are not mentioned.
In general, There are many companies now who don't keep these branch barrier. if anyone who statisfy their selection bar, they select the candidate. Later they make all the adjustments and make the students fit into the work.
If you go by branch like i am from manufacturing engineering branch and i should get a job in my branch only then you will get few chances only. Chances are there but options are less as the openings will be less. Here the word Competitive becomes like bottle-neck condition. Here a candidate having expertise in the branch domain will get the job.
So try in general domain and specific domain also. It all depends on luck to get a job.
Hope it helps!
Hii..
As you mention your rank in TANCET with this time there some chances for you to get SSN for manufacturing Engineering.... Gofor the counselling till last round...
All the best!!
