My wbjee general rank is 30056 and my SC rank is 2833 . can i get govt. colleges? please tell me

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 6th Aug, 2021

Hi

This is very difficult to predict which college you will get because it keeps changing every year depending upon a number of factors like

--------) number of students that appeared in the WBJEE exam

--------)difficulty level of the WBJEE examination

--------)Kind of marks obtained by the students in the WBJEE exam

--------) number of students from different categories

--------) seats available for different branches etc

But yes,

With your 30056 rank being from sc category,

On the basis of analysis of past years wbjee cut off data , yes you have chances in government engineering college.

For example,

In 2019 , in 3rd round of wbjee, 30978 general rank for sc category got a government engineering college and it was for Govt. College Of Engineering & Textile Technology , Serampore, Apparel & Production Management

What is the use of reserved category rank if GMR is considered while counselling in WBJEE?

Moumoyee Chakraborty 14th Aug, 2021

The fact is that GMR is generated for all the applicants who appeared during the WBJEE exam and scored greater than zero. But if you are from a specific category then along with GMR your category rank will also be generated that will allot your seat in that specific category after successfull counselling. So every GMR is the distinct one , your category rank is calculated according to the guidelines of the competent authority of WBJEE .

Good wishes!!!
