Hi there,
Yes, your daughter is still allowed to go for the vacancy round in KCET counselling.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) after the third round, typically holds a vacancy round, which is an extended or special round, to fill those seats that are left unallocated due to withdrawals or unreported admissions.
As her KCET rank is 34,000, she still has quite a good shot of attaining a seat, especially in private or newly established engineering colleges, or in branches that have lesser demand.
Just frequently visit the official KEA website for the latest updates about the vacancy or casual round schedule, and be all set with the documents so that she can participate at the earliest when the portal goes live.
Hope it helps!!! Thank you.

Hello Swati
Yes, your EWS certificate will be valid for JEE Main 2026 and counselling if it’s issued after April 1, 2025. This is because EWS certificates are valid for one financial year from April to March. So, a certificate made in October 2025 will be for FY 2025–26, which covers both JEE and counselling. You’ll need the certificate number during JEE registration in October 2025. Even if you don’t have it yet, you can still register and upload it later during counselling. Just make sure the certificate clearly mentions the correct financial year. Always keep a few extra copies and the original ready for verification. You're good to go if it’s issued after April 1, 2025

Hii,
The best colleges for mechanical engineering are I IT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Kharagpur , known for their world class faculty, labs, and placements.
Among the NITs, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal have the best reputations with the strongest mechanical departments and good research facilities. BITS Pilani is a leading private institution that offers notable academic and placement records.
VIT Vellore, SRM University, and MIT Manipal also contribute positively as they give good exposure and have great industry connections.
It all comes down to the ranking of your entrance exam, budget, and preferred location, but on the whole, the IITs and top NITs are still the most popular for mechanical engineering in India.
For JEE Main 2026, the three most high-weightage chapters across all subjects are:
Physics – Electrostatics
Chemistry – Coordination Compounds
Mathematics – Calculus (Application of Derivatives & Definite Integration)

Yes, NCERT books are good for the JEE exam, especially for building a strong conceptual foundation and for chemistry, but they are not sufficient on their own for high scores. NCERTs are essential for understanding the basic concepts of physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and many questions are directly based on their content, particularly in inorganic chemistry.
I hope it will clear your query!!

If you are pursuing your master’s from IGNOU (January 2025 batch), you will become eligible to get into M.Phil. or Ph.D. programme only after completing your master’s degree successfully with the required minimum percentage which is (usually 55%).
However, you should know that as per the latest UGC regulations, M.Phil. programmes have been discontinued in most of the universities across India, and admissions are now being offered directly to the Ph.D. programmes based on NET/JRF scores or university entrance tests.
Hope You Understand.
