Hey,

The registration will start from April 2020 and examination will be held in June 2020. So you must start preparing from now itself.

The exam will have 100 MCQ questions and the duration will be 90 minutes.

The syllabus contains 5 subjects:

  • General knowledge
  • Current affairs
  • Aptitude for law
  • Mental ability
  • English language.

Here is the list of reference books that you can use for preparation:

  • CLAT and LLB Entrance Examination Study Package, A. P. Bhardwaj.
  • The Ultimate Guide to the LLB Entrance Examination 2012, M A Rashid.
  • Guide to LLB Entrance Examination 2012-13, 22nd Edn.
  • Model Test Papers for CLAT & LLB, A. P. Bhardwaj.
  • The Pearson Guide to the LLB Entrance Exam, Thorpe.
  • LLB Entrance Examination Guide, Pankaj Kr. Jaiswal.
  • English Legal System, Susan Mckenzie.

Start solving mock tests and sample papers.

Enhance your general knowledge and current affairs. For this, watch news and read new paper regularly. Stay updated with what is happening around.

Improve your English vocabulary and grammar. For this you can use English in your daily life and also you can read good books every day.

Hope this helps!

Hi Lucky,

If you want to clear UILS (University Institute of Legal Studies) exam to take admission in PU then you have to focus on your basics of legal studies and general knowledge first. The entrance exam is divided into four different categories:

1. English - 10 Questions of 1 mark each.

2. Current Affairs/ GK - 60 Questions of 1 mark each

3. Legal Aptitude - 20 Questions of 1 mark each

4. Logical Ability - 10 Questions of 1 mark each

Combining makes it 100 Questions with 100 marks in total.

If you want to prepare for your exam you should check out previous year question papers for better idea on the question types and patterns. Get a current affair book to prepare for the most important section that also carries the highest marks.

If you have your hold on the basics then you can easily prepare for the exam in 2 months through regular practice. If you don't have basics clear then you should start preparing as soon as possible for better outcomes.
