To become a counselor you need to have Bachelor's or associate's degree in counseling . Master's degree in counseling may have more advantages.

You need minimum 2 years professional counseling experience, preferably in an educational field. Knowledge of placement testing and career, personal, and educational assessment is also needed.

You can have a diploma degree in counseling or Psychotherapy. You can also work as coordinator.
