With a CRL of 1.53 lakh, being an outside Delhi OBC candidate with defence quota priority VI, your chances of getting a CS-related branch like CSAM, CSD, CSSS, CSAI, or CSE at IIIT Delhi are unfortunately very low. The closing ranks for OBC and even for OBC with defence quota usually stay well below your rank, often within the top 80,000. Even with the quota, priority VI doesn’t offer as much relaxation as the higher priorities.

So realistically, it's unlikely you'll get a CS branch at IIIT Delhi with this rank this year. You might want to keep some backup options in mind or consider a drop year if IIIT Delhi is your goal.

Hello student,

No, a 99.05 percentile and a rank of 14621 is unlikely to get you a seat in the Computer Science (CSE) branch at IIIT Delhi, especially if you are an outside Delhi candidate.

The cutoff for CSE at IIIT Delhi for General (Outside Delhi) candidates is typically above 99.6 percentile. For Delhi candidates, the cutoff is usually a bit lower, but still above 99 percentile.

Since your rank is 14621, and the cutoff is likely higher than your rank, it's improbable you'll get a seat.

You can check this article to understand the previous year's cutoff trends of IIIT Delhi:

Thank you!!

With a 6300 EWS rank in JEE Mains 2025 and being an outside Delhi student, getting CSE or CSE with specialization at IIIT Delhi is possible but not guaranteed. IIIT Delhi is very competitive, and usually, top ranks under 3000 get CSE seats. However, with 6300 rank, you can still have a chance if seats remain after higher-ranked candidates. Also, consider related branches or specializations at IIIT Delhi or other IIITs for better chances. Participate in counseling carefully.

hi,

To get into IIIT Delhi through JEE Main, you usually need a percentile above 99 for top branches like CSE, especially if you're from outside Delhi. For Delhi students, the cutoff is a bit lower—around 98–99 .

For reserved categories (like OBC, EWS, SC/ST), the required percentile is lower, usually around 90–96 , depending on the branch and region.

Hello there,

With 80 percentile (female, defense quota priority 6, outside Delhi), chances for NSUT, DTU, and IIITD in core branches are low as cutoffs are 95+ percentile.

Options :

  • NSUT/DTU/IIITD: Possible for lower branches under defense quota.
  • IGDTUW (for females): Chance for ECE/IT.
  • Other Govt Colleges: Consider IIITs (Bhagalpur, Bhopal, etc.), state colleges, or GFTIs.

    Required Percentile for Core Branches:
  • NSUT/DTU/IIITD (CSE, IT, ECE): 98+ percentile
  • IGDTUW (IT, CSE): 95+ percentile
  • Lower branches in NSUT/DTU: 90+ with defense quota

Try improving in JEE Mains Session 2 for better chances.

With 91.5 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 under the EWS category from Rajasthan , your chances of getting into NITs or IIITs depend on cutoffs, home state quota, and branch selection.

NIT Admission:

  • Home State Advantage: MNIT Jaipur may offer better chances due to the home state quota.
  • Cutoff Considerations: Competitive branches may require a percentile above 95 .

IIIT Delhi Admission:

  • JAC Delhi Counseling: IIIT Delhi admits students based on JEE Main rank through JAC Delhi.
  • High Cutoffs: Most branches need a percentile above 95 for strong chances.

Next Steps:

  1. Participate in JoSAA & JAC Delhi counseling.
  2. Explore state engineering colleges in Rajasthan.
  3. Monitor official cutoffs for seat allocation trends.

Keeping track of counseling updates and cutoffs will help in securing the best possible seat.

Dear

According to the information getting admission to IIIT Delhi or IIIT Hyderabad with 981 marks in your state board OBC category is challenging but not impossible. Here's a brief overview of the admission criteria for both institutes:

IIIT Delhi

For B.Tech programs, IIIT Delhi primarily considers JEE Main scores. However, there are some seats filled through the Board's channel, which requires high marks in class 12 The cutoffs for these seats can be quite high, often above 90% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).

IIIT Hyderabad

IIIT Hyderabad also considers JEE Main scores for B.Tech admissions. For the Board's channel, you need to score at least 90% in PCM to be eligible for an interview. The final selection is based on the interview performance.

Given your score of 981, it might be tough to secure a seat through the Board's channel, but it's not entirely out of reach. You might want to consider other options or prepare for JEE Main if you haven't already.

Hi,

Considering your focus on good placements and a decent college life, DTU, NSUT, and IIIT Delhi stand out as better choices compared to the newer IIITs (Bhopal, Nagpur, Kota).

  • If you get CSE or ECE in DTU or NSUT : These should be your top choices due to their strong placement records, vibrant campus life, and established reputation.
  • IIIT Delhi : Is also an excellent choice, especially if you prefer a research-oriented environment with good placements.

In summary, prioritize DTU and NSUT for their overall advantages in placements and campus life, followed by IIIT Delhi for its strong academic environment and competitive placement stats.

Hope it helps you!
