Thank you for sharing your query with us, since you did not any any specific course you would like admission in I would like to provide you an overview of the eligibility criteria and entrance procedure to Jadavpur University. So make sure that you go through everything carefully.
Jadavpur is one of the most premier institutes not only in West Bengal but also in India. Many students apply each year hoping to get in Jadavpur University hence the competition is quite tough. Now, Jadavpur has two branches one is the main Jadavpur Campus and the other is newly established in the Salt Lake area.
Considering you are asking about Madhyamik I would assume you want admission in the bachelors degree courses so here is the entrance eligiblity :
The Admission to B.Pharm., B.Tech. and B.Arch. is done if the basis of what you score at WBJEE.
The Applicants are shortlisted for counselling for admission to the rest of the programs is on the basis of entrance exam, conducted by the University except B.Sc.
For B.Sc, Seats will be allotted on the basis of previous academic merit.
Now coming to your question the minimum marks required to apply for entrance exams is generally fixed at 50% for the General Category and 45% for PD/OBC-A/OBC-B category & 40% for SC/ST category. You will need to have more than 70% marks for certain specific subjects like if you're applying for B.A your aggregate should be more than 70 or 75% in courses such as History, English and Economic. So, if you score 70% marks it is more than enough for some courses you to apply for entrance exams but for others you would need a slightly more. Though, keep in mind that the result of entrance exam will guarantee admission on the basis of cut-off except if you want admission in any of the B.sc. courses. Also you must check WBJEE eligiblity to know more.
Here are the official links to the websites you can check for more information:
I hope this solves your query and that you have done all the required registration for the entrance exams within deadlines.
Best of luck for your examinations.
Cheers,
Arpita Goon.

The Jadavpur University has quite old buildings. But, it has a central library with separate libraries in each department. It has 4-5 canteens at different points in the campus. It also has an Open air theatre, A gym, and a basketball court adjacent to the main ground.
The university still uses alot of buildings that are way too old and they are maintained very rarely. But, few new buildings have been built recently which is a good thing. There is a lack of adequate labs for example in my department (Economics) there is no sufficient facility. There is also lack of ACs in the classrooms.
Our University has very good infrastructure. But a little bit old fashioned. But our department has many laboratories such as APPLIED MECHANOCS LAB, HEAT POWER LAB, HYDRAULICS LAB, FITTING SHOP, CARPENTRY SHOP, BLUE EARTH MACHINE SHOP, FOUNDRY SHOP, FORGING SHOP. We also have two computer labs in our department.
