Admission through Lateral entry in 2nd year Engineering/technology courses is done through JELET examination.
JEELT is a state level entrance exam and is conducted by  West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.

Eligibility Criteria for admission through Lateral Entry scheme to Jadavpur University is as follows-

- Candidates who have completed diploma must have passed 10+2 or qualifying examination in regular mode
- Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and must have scored minimum 60 percent marks in these subjects taken together.
- Candidates are also required to have passed English minimum 30% marks in the qualifying exam.

Hi sangeetha, yes there are few placements related to M.Pharm as some Pharmaceutical companies Abbott Nutrition, Glaxosmithkline etc. recruiting. Also since you go through various disciplines of studies like medicinal chemistry, pharmocology, biochemistry, Pharmaceutics, physics, computer etc. you can get through other field oriented placements as well like Accenture, Infosys and many such IT companies. If you wish to work for Pharmaceutics company, the placement here is not that much related to it.

Jadhavpur University does not see your 10th grade marks as it has a specific exam that has to be cleared. So, the only way one can enter into Jadhavpur University is through WBJEE. The university has relatively reduced the number of students it takes and the competition has become tougher.

Well your OBC B rank in your WBJEE examination is 90 . The cut off of Jadavpur University , Kolkata this year depends on the previous year trends . For OBC B category and for Mechanical Engineering Previous Cut Off was :-

You need to pass 10+2 from a recognized board with PCM with at least 60%  AND 45% for reserve category, such as ST, SC, OBC, PWD marks in all the three subjects taken together and individual pass marks in each of the three subjects. You need to score 60% marks in mathematics, 45% for reserve category and at least pass marks in English with a minimum of 30%. The board of the said qualifying examination must be recognized by the state or central government.

The one who is  applying to UG courses must be Class XII pass with at least 50% marks or equivalent from a recognized university or board. It means that you are not requried to have 60% to meet elgibilty criteria. You just need 50%. So make sure you score good!
