Acharya Deshbhushan Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital located in Belagavi was set up in 2002 and the college introduced education system and medical facility of Ayurveda. Situated at shamanewadi, Belgaum, Karnataka, this affiliated college has got the approval from central council for Indian medicine. The institute was established on a campus that covers an area of 10 acres with provision of a Co-Education. Southwest is a small college that has in its current enrolment of 268 students and 34 faculty members, which gives it a concentrated environment for learning. The institution provides 4 courses toward 3 degrees in the faculty of Ayurveda such as BAMS, MS Shalakya Tantra, MD Kayachikitsa, and MD Rachana Shareer.

In addition to the line programmes, Acharya Deshbhushan Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital has assorted amenities devoted to the learning and development of students and their health. It is established as an important source of academic materials and contains 4,075 books including editions on all the subject studied in the curriculum. It offers separate reading rooms for male and female students, as well as teaching staff, and operates from 9:From 30 AM to 6:30 PM, but with service until 10 PM in examination period. MS Shalakya Tantra Postgraduate program: It is specialized for Ayurvedic eye and ENT treatments. Admission procedure remains the same as for other PG courses, with an added qualification of BAMS degree and appropriate entrance examinations qualifying.
