About Adichunchanagiri College of Nursing, Mandya
Adichunchanagiri College of Nursing, Mandya was established in 1995 and it is a deemed nursing college. Recognised by the Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka State Nursing Council, ACN is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The courses provided by the college in nursing include diploma and degrees courses in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. ACN covers a total of 2 acres and offers education to a total enrolment of 326 students, 312 of which are undergraduates, and 14 of which are postgraduate students. It means the staffing of the college always assures each student gets personalised attention and offers 10 courses across 4 degree programmes in different disciplines of nursing.
To support the learning activities for the students, ACN Mandya offers several facilities needed to create a favourable learning environment. The campus has hostels for both boys and girls having all the necessary amenities. The college provides a library section which has more than 2700 books, 30 national/international magazines, 50 International magazines through HELINET and other sources. Internet has also been provided with adequate library facility, with a digital library and internet access being made available all through the day. For practical exposure, ACN is affiliated with the Adichunchanagiri Hospital & Research Centre, a 950 bedded multispecialty hospital, that provides students immense exposure to different medical sectors. The college also has well equipped nursing foundation laboratory, pediatric laboratory, nutrition laboratory, obstetrics and gynecological laboratory, community health laboratory and computer laboratory. Indoor and outside sports facility is also available to ensure that exercise is conducted among students.
ACN Mandya provided a wise range of nursing courses. 10 full-time courses are offered by the institute in the form of diploma (GNM), undergraduate (B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing), postgraduate (M.Sc in various specialties like Psychiatric Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing), and doctoral (Ph.D) programme. The overall sanctioned intake over all the four courses is 265 while the maximum sanctioned intake for B.Sc Nursing is 100. There are also part-time Ph.D programmes offered by the college to meet the needs of nurses who are now going back to school for advanced nursing research.

Students must meet the general admission requirements set by the college and university the ACN Mandya is affiliated to. The admission is based on the candidate’s performance in the qualifying exam.
