Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) is a well-reputed medical college in Agartala, Tripura. The college offers several undergraduate and postgraduate medical programs and has a tough admission process to select the best-deserving candidates. AGMC is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is known for its standards in medical education. The admission process at AGMC is mainly through national-level entrance examinations. For undergraduate programs like MBBS, the admissions are based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Postgraduate admissions for MD and MS programs are held based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET-PG). 

Usually, the academic session at AGMC starts in the month of August-September. The application process for Agartala Government Medical College depends on the program:

For MBBS:

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: The MBBS course in AGMC has an approval of 125 seats. The candidate's selection is entirely dependent on the NEET-UG score. An eligible candidate must take part in the centralized counseling done by the state or central authorities for seat allocation.

MD General Medicine: There are 11 seats in this postgraduate program. Admission given by NEET-PG followed by counseling. Candidates in possession of an MBBS degree are eligible to apply.

MS General Surgery: Admission is based on NEET-PG performance and subsequent counseling for students in this program which offers 9 seats.

MD Radiodiagnosis: This specialty has a total of 5 seats. Candidates are selected based upon NEET-PG after having completed their MBBS to be eligible.

MS Orthopaedics: Admission based on NEET-PG and counseling for this program with a total of 5 seats.

MD Pharmacology: The course offers 4 seats. Admission is through NEET-PG and candidates must hold an MBBS degree.

MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology: Admission is based on NEET-PG performance for the four available seats.
