APB Government Post Graduate College, Agastyamuni was established in 1974 at Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand. This affiliated college, situated on a campus of 6 acres, provides many academic courses that run to fulfill the educational needs of the students in the area. The total student enrolment in the college is 2,546, the strength of faculty is 41, and the college is appropriate for learning. APB Government Post Graduate College is graded an "A" by the NAAC and recognised by the NCTE to bring out the best emerging considerable quality education through its 19 courses the 9 degree programmes .

APB Government Post Graduate College offers various academic courses, 19 regular courses at different levels. Undergraduate courses include BA, B.Com, and B.Sc. The college offers postgraduate courses in MA in Hindi, English, Economics, Political Science, History, and Geography and in M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Mathematics. The college also runs professional courses such as B.Ed Self Finance and multiple diploma programmes, which include Tourism, Nursery Technology and Orchard Management, and PGDCA. 

Admission to most postgraduate courses will be made on the basis of university guidelines for MA and M.Sc courses, in general. The B.Ed Self Finance course and diploma courses in Tourism and in Nursery Technology and Orchard Management will have merit-based admission.
