The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course is five years full-time, which includes 4 years of curriculum plus 1 year of rotating internship, offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI).

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to the first BDS course: 

a). Should have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination of the re-University Board of Karnataka with English and Physics Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually* also. 

b). Should have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate Education established by State Governments/ Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a two-year university examination by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences/Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and the candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually. 

c).  Should have passed the Intermediate examination in Science of an Indian University/Board/Council or other recognized examining bodies with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually. 

d). Should have passed the pre-professional/ pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination. The pre-professional/ pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry, and biology, and also English as a compulsory subject.             

e). Should have passed the first year of the three-year degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the Examination is a 'University Examination' provided that the candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually in the pre-university or other examinations mentioned in the clauses above.

f). Should have passed B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) provided the candidate has passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually in the qualifying examinations mentioned in clauses (a), (b) and (C).

g). Age Requirement- The candidate shall have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete this age on 31st December of the year in which he/she seeks admission.

Admission Details

Admissions in BDS course will be done through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
