The College of Home Science was established in 1988 as a constituent unit of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner. This institution is housed in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and offers courses and research in home science only. I wanted to put the college in a central location with a large, expansive piece of land to enable the achievement of its objectives; the college occupies 10 acres of land, thus providing adequate space for learning. A total number of 92 students had registered for the college, while the direct faculty support available in the college is 9, which makes the college a place where each student can get personal attention besides getting quality education from the college. They have eight courses in four degree programmes, hence resulting in home science and food and nutrition community development courses.

It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses that prepare students with specialisations in home science and related disciplines. The college has eight regular courses, and these are B.Sc Community Science (Hons) and B.Sc Food Nutrition and Dietetics (Hons). At the postgraduate levels, students can opt for M.Sc. Home Science, Food and Nutrition, Extension Education and Communication Management, Resource Management and Consumer Science, or Human Development and Family Studies. In the research area the college has opened PhD programmes in Extension Education and Communication Management as well as Food and Nutrition.
