Established in 1999, the DIET, Uthamapalayam is one of the reputed institutions for the education of teachers in Tamil Nadu. It comes under the Theni district, and the central admission process applies to its Diploma in Elementary Education course. D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education):
It is the two-year full-time course at DIET Uthamapalayam, here at this institute, and with regards to preparing students for teaching at the elementary level. It is done solely on merit with marks obtained in the qualifying exam (usually 10+2) and/or performance in an entrance exam when held. The institute has intake of 50 which has been approved.
