About Fatima College, Madurai
The Fatima College for women, Madurai was started in 1953 and is an autonomous college affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. This college is situated in Mary Land, Madurai, Tamil Nadu and is accredited by NAAC and has 37 acres of land and has 48 courses to its 15 degrees. Currently, the number of students is 4,336, and there are 204 members of the faculty; 77% of the students are undergraduate, and 23% are postgraduates. The college has its specialisations in Arts, Science, Commerce and Management studies for only female students from different strata of society.
Fatima College offers many facilities to contributing to student life. The facilities in the campus include a gymnasium, a good library, and sophisticated sports facilities. The learners are privileged to access very good information technology where there is Wi-Fi all over the compound. College works as a medical facility with a first aid and a canteen for college students and employees. An auditorium of the college is used for organising different events and seminars, also there is the girls’ hostel that provides comfortable living conditions. The campus also comprised of departmental laboratories, transport facility and required number of parking areas. The college offers banking facilities and has a rather developed alumni relation system.
The academic programmes in Fatima College are both numerous and vast. The institution offers forty-eight courses across the areas of discipline with full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered. 15 degree programmes are available at the college, which area regards arts, science, commerce and professional programmes- BA Sociology with Computer Applications, MCA , B.Sc Physics & B.Sc Zoology etc. Fatima College recorded the following learners’ enrolment for the 2023 academic year; Aspirants: 3927; Undergraduate: 3043; Postgraduate: 884. This college keeps students’ gender factor into consideration mostly involving women as all the students in the college are female.
Fatima is an interview list based College and most of the students are admitted based on merit. For the undergraduate programmes, candidates are admitted for qualifying examination and interview in line with their performance. The same applies to the admission process of postgraduate courses: although entrance exam scores are more important for some programmes only. For example, MBA has TANCET, MAT, CAT or CMAT test scores and group discussion and interview as the admission criteria. Very Good infrastructure with great exposure which was very clean and well-maintained. College contains hostel, smart class, a good library, laboratories with need materials. And food are hygienic and I enjoyed being in that campus.

Our college infrastructure is so good and it has all necessary things especially our library contains merely 10,000 books and I too spend my valuable times there. And the environment is very clean with lots of trees,parrots etc.
