The Government First Grade College, Hulsoor, GFGCH, is a co-educational institution providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide spectrum of disciplines. The processes of admission are quite simple and open to all qualified candidates. GFGCH follows its admission processes according to the guidelines set forth by its affiliates and follows Karnataka University rules. Admissions schedules usually taper in closely with the academic calendar in Karnataka universities.

For undergraduate programs, the basic eligibility criteria entail passing class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. For postgraduate programs, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.

Application Process 

1. Notification: Information regarding the admission notification, generally published just before the beginning of the academic year, can be found in the college website or in the local newspapers.

2. Application Form: The application form may be collected from the college office or downloaded, if available, from the official website.

3. Form Filling: Fill the application form duly, providing correct personal and academic details. Ensure that all relevant fields are filled and all information given is correct.

4. Document Preparation: Prepare copies of documents that generally include:

• Passport size photographs
• 10th and 12th Standard mark sheets and certificates
• Transfer Certificate (from the previous institution)
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Any other certificates/documents enumerated in the admission notification

5. Submit: Submit duly filled application form along with self-attested photocopies of all requisite documents to the dear office of college admissions before the due date.

6. Verification: The college will verify all submitted documents along with the academic credentials.

7. Merit List: The college will prepare and publish a merit list for all selected students as per the eligibility criteria and number of seats available.

8. Admission confirmed: In case of selection, go to the college to confirm the admission with original documents and deposit the requisite fees.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Sc. (Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science): A three-year undergraduate course where admission is granted to students based on their 10+2 marks concentrating in science subjects. The B.Sc. program is designed to provide thorough theoretical and practical knowledge in physics, mathematics, and computer science.

B.Com filled with a three-year degree to be followed by students destined for business and commerce for reasons of interest. Admission depends on the marks of the 12th standard, which favours students coming from commerce.

BA (History, Economics, and Political Science): The basis for this three-year arts program, focused on humanities and social sciences, is History, Economics, and Political Sciences. Admission is interface on the basis of 12th standard marks, there are no particular stream restrictions.

BBM-Bachelor of Business Management is this three-year program for students looking to make a career in management. Admission is based on 12th standard marks, with preference given to commerce or science students.

M.A English: This two-years postgraduate program for English literature shall accept those students who have done their graduation preferably in English or any other related humanities subject. Admission is considered on graduation marks with an entrance test/interview (if any), held by the college.

Master of Commerce or M.Com is two years. Generally, students with a B.Com or any other similar undergraduate program will be preferred for admission based on graduation marks and any further consideration given by the college or affiliated university.
