The Attingal’s Government Polytechnic College is a leading technical college in the state of Kerala, India, since 1994. Located on Polytechnic Road opposite the Government Guest House, this affiliated college covers a broad area of 5.77 acres of land. AICTE-recognised institute which has set a niche for itself in delivering quality technical education among students. Currently, a total of 674 students are admitted and 31 members of faculty are responsible for their training, making the student-faculty ratio very favourable for the students. The institute presently has four specialised diploma courses, which are crafted to prepare students for the market and are as follows:

They have well-equipped institutions that complement the learning process of the students that attend the college. Tied to academic resources is a fully equipped library that contains more than sixty thousand books, periodicals and journals. The library is a computerised library which employs the use of an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and is used by students and staff. In practical learning, the college has fully equipped laboratories, such as language laboratory that uses both conventional techniques and computer/technology in teaching English language. The technological aspect in the institute is well enhanced through proper IT facilities to enable students obtain the latest technologies in the world.

At Government Polytechnic College, Attingal, faculty offers total four full-time diploma courses each of three years duration. The courses are Automobile Engineering, Computer Hardware engineering, Electrical and Electronics engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All of these programmes have an intake of 60 students, which means that there are enough prospects in this field for budding engineers.These programmes are offered in all the disciplines of engineering, thus offering students a good grounding in technical education. 

Total intake capacity for the college is 240 students and for each course it is 60 students only.
