The Karnataka based specialised technical institution of Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) was set up in 2009 at Kolar. This institute is situated in the Kolar district and is an effort to bring effective education to this field in particular tool and die making. This affiliated college, GTTC Kolar is working under the approval of ‘All India Council for Technical Education’ to maintain the standard of Technical Education throughout the country.

Degree-wise Admission Process
Diploma in Tool and Die Making: This flagship program at GTTC Kolar has the objective of imparting skills in tool and die making in about four years. Admission is based on merit in the qualifying exam, and possibly in relevant entrance tests.
Diploma in Precision Manufacturing: This diploma course caters to precision manufacturing processes that are very significant in an industrial setup nowadays. Admission may be based either on the performance in the qualifying examination or on relevant skills assessment.
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: This diploma encompasses large areas of electrical and electronics engineering, preparing students for a career in this field. Admission is merit-based in the qualifying examination with emphasis on Mathematics and Science.
