Govindrao Wanjari College of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2008 at Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is a quality-oriented institution that maintains excellent standards for education. The GWCET trust is a quality-oriented institution that maintains high standards for education. This affiliated college campus spreads over an area of 10.3 acres that provides different streams of engineering and management courses. This college is National Assessment and Accreditation Council accredited. It is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. It has a total of 1,186 students and faculty strength of 22. A place where vision for academic excellence and personal development can be achieved.

Govindrao Wanjari College has numerous amenities that go well with the educational vision. Its library occupies 588.544 square meters area, comprising a stock of 18,586 productive books with titles of 3,527 along with journals, magazines, and newspapers from within and outside the country. The students also have at their disposal the facility of OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) and an open access internet section. State-of-the-art computer labs are available on the campus, with high-speed internet connectivity of 10 Mbps through an IBM server. Sports lovers will have volleyball, cricket, badminton, and athletic facilities along with indoor games such as carom and chess. The college also has hostels exclusively for boys and girls, with attached bathrooms, study tables, and dining halls, so that students can have a comfortable place to stay.

GWCET offers 10 courses across 3 degree levels: BE/BTech, MBA, and Diploma. Programmes are offered in engineering and management through regular programmes at the B.Tech, BE, MBA, and Diploma level. GWCET had a sanctioned intake of a total 660 seats in various specialisations. The courses offered are B. Tech Information Technology, BE Computer Science and Engineering, BE Mechanical Engineering, BE Electrical Engineering, BE Civil Engineering, MBA, and a number of diplomas in branches of engineering.

The college offers a diverse range of engineering and management programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels. GWCET's admission process is designed to select talented and deserving candidates through various national and state-level entrance examinations.

The admission cycle of GWCET usually starts during the months before the beginning of the academic year, which may be around August-September. The institute takes intake based on performance in the entrance exams like JEE Main for B.Tech/BE programs, MAH MBA CET for the MBA program, and MHT CET for various engineering courses. These exams are held typically between January and May of every year.

The basic eligibility for B.Tech and BE programs is completion of 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. MBA aspirants should have completed their bachelors' degree from a recognized university. Application Process

The application process for GWCET varies for different programs.

For B. Tech/BE programs

  3. Fill GWCET application form-if any, on the web portal.
  4. Application along with entrance exam score cards, 10th and 12th mark sheet, and other certificates according to the requirement.
  5. Pay the application fee as available on the college website.
  6. Attend counseling or document verification as scheduled by the state admission authority or the college.

For MBA program:

  1. Appear for MAH MBA CET
  2. Get registered with state level MBA admissions
  3. Submission of GWCET MBA Application Form if the process at the state level is separate.
  4. Provide all documents, including graduation mark sheets, entrance exam score card, and work experience certificates, if any.
  5. Pay the application fee.
  6. Attend other selection procedures, if intimated by the college.

For Diploma programs

  1. Apply through the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education Admission process
  2. Fill GWCET diploma application form, if made available
  3. Attach 10th mark sheet and other required documents
  4. Pay the application fee as stipulated
  5. Attend counseling or document verification, as scheduled.

For Ph.D. programs:

  1. Wait for Ph.D. admissions on the GWCET website.
  2. Submit the form along with research proposal and necessary documents.
  3. Report to the entrance test and/or interview as informed by the college.
  4. Pay application fee for the PhD program.

Common documents needed at the time of admission are:

  • Entrance examination score card
  • Mark sheets of 10th and 12th.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech/BE: GWCET offers many B.Tech and BE programs such as Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. The admission to all these programs is based mostly on JEE Main followed by MHT CET scores for the state quota seats. The total seats in the entire programs of the college amount to 360. To be eligible, candidates need to have passed 10+2 with PCM as subjects and qualify in entrance exams.

MBA: GWCET offers an MBA program with an intake of 120 seats. The admission is done based on the scores obtained in MAH MBA CET. The selected candidates may be called for further selection processes as per the state's MBA admission guidelines.

Diploma: GWCET offers diploma programs in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, each with 60 seats. Admission to these programs is usually through the state-level diploma entrance exam or as per the guidelines set by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.

Ph.D. College also offers Ph.D. programs in Electronics and Telecommunication and Science and Humanities. Admission to these also happens through a different mode with entrance tests and interview processes conducted by the colleges or affiliated universities themselves.
