Himachal Pradesh University Centre for Evening Studies was set up in 1962 at Shimla and is one of the constituent Colleges in the picturesque area of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. This co—educational institution located in the eastern part of Nepal established in 1995 provides distinct environment for the students interested to take quality education during the evening hours. Currently after an area of 0.499 acres of learning place, the Centre has rose to be the campus of higher learning for all 786 enrolments. The institute has a staff strength of 17 members to support 7 courses and 4 degree programmes in arts, commerce, humanities streams.
Himachal Pradesh University Centre Evening Studies is determined to provide better infrastructure and aids in the learning process. The library remains an essential academic source and contains book collection of nearly 27500 books. The advantages are: open stack access, computer permitted internet usage, and INFLIBNET membership make the research rich. The technology of the institution is also well developed; it has its own computer lab with Internet connection and Wi-Fi is in every corner of the campus. The Centre does not have its own sports grounds, but the students are provided certain facilities to use the University playground at Summer Hill for their physical training besides offering them the impressive academic environment. The college also has a provision for the students to engage in other co-curricular activities so as to foster the students all rounded development in culture, aesthetic and physique.
