24 MonthsMaster of Business Administration (MBA) in Family Business and Entrepreneurship is a two-year full-time post graduvate course offered by the Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
MBA in Family Business & Entrepreneurship programme is designed for next generation family business owners striving to grow their business and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to create value, generate employment and wealth. The curriculum provides exposure to students with respect to significant facets and intricate nuances of family business management. In line with start-up India movement, the programme also nurtures young students with required skills and knowledge and enabling eco-system. The programme consists of a perfect blend of classroom teaching, case studies and experiential learning pedagogies like role play, simulations and field-based courses. The field courses involving summer internship for budding entrepreneurs, domestic and international industrial visits, and business plan provide students with hands-on experience to visualize disruptive business models, develop winning strategy and pioneer innovative start-ups.
A three-year bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates appearing in the final year of the Bachelor’s Degree can also apply provided they furnish the proof of meeting the minimum eligibility criteria within 3 months of them joining the programme. They should have appeared in all the examinations of their graduation by the time of commencement of the programme. The candidates failing to meet the minimum eligibility criteria will be asked to withdraw from the programme. The tuition fee paid by such candidates will be forfeited unless such vacant seats are filled by other candidates.
1. Entrance Test
The applicants are required to appear in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Institute of Management through online mode.
2. Entrance Test Structure:
Duration of this test will be 60 minutes and have four Sections of 10 questions each.
• Logic & Data Interpretation
• Quantitative Skills
• Verbal Skills
• General Knowledge
3. Final Selection
The final selection for admission to the programme would be based on the candidate’s performance in the Entrance Test, Personal Interview & Communication Test. The following weightage will be given to each component:
• Entrance Test: 60%
• Personal Interview & Communication Test: 30%
• Past Academic Performance: 10%
An additional score of 5 points shall be given for the candidates who belong to Business Families.
*While computing the score of the Academic Performance, the marks obtained in SSC, HSC and Graduation shall be taken into account with 20% weightage for SSC marks, 30% weightage for HSC marks, 50% weightage for graduation marks (only the aggregate marks obtained in the examinations upto pre-final year will be considered for computing the merit, for example in case of a 3 year degree programme first and second year examinations’ marks will be counted and in case a four year degree programme first, second and third year examinations’ marks will be counted).
