Kanishka College of Physical Education, Raichur, was set up in the year 2006 exclusively for the physical education in Karnataka, India. Located on Hyderabad Road in Yeramaras Taluk, this co-educational college is set over a relatively small area of only 2.2 acres. As an affiliated college, this college runs under the regulatory of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) standards in physical education. The college has 82 students majoring in physical education and has a faculty of 7 members that provides the student with the close encounter and experience they need to become great physical education professionals.

Kanishka College of Physical Education has made provisions for several installations would supplement the teaching and learning exercises of its students. The providing of physically educational academic resources is reinforced in a library that would serve as the source of strength for the students acquirement of knowledge that relates to physically education and other related discipline. On practical experience, the college provides course-based departments, where the learners can practice in the departmental laboratories. In addition, there is an auditorium for holding events and seminars that creates an active academic environment on the territory of the campus. 

Kanishka College of Physical Education offers quality education in physical education that comprises of a single full time course. The B.P.ED which is the flagship programme of the institution has been granted an approved intake capacity of one hundred. This two years programme is aimed at preparing students for professional positions in the spheres of physical education as well as sport coaching occupations. 

Admission into the Kanishka College of Physical Education is on merit since the institution wants to admit the best candidates to the course. It has been established that students who seek admission into the school undergo several tests and quizzes such as written exam, a special sports aptitude test and physical fitness test. In addition, the performance during the qualifying examination is also considered.
