Maharshi Ved Vyas Government PG College, Bhakhara, was established in the year 2008 as an affiliated college situated in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh. The institution, which is an amalgamation of a 10-acre campus, has an accumulation of 15 courses in 8 degrees offered. The college has a total strength of 1,548 students and a faculty of 12 members; thus, it has a good environment for learning. The federal university also recognises the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), where it aims to provide accreditation to the institution. These include first visionary programmes like BA, B.Com., and B.Sc. in diverse fields and post-visionary programmes like MA, M.Com., and M.Sc. The college also offers diploma courses, including the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) and Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA). The cumulative approved enrolment for all courses is 1,548 in recognition of the fact that the institution can enrol and admit a large number of students in various courses. 

The procedure for admission at Maharshi Ved Vyas Government PG College is general and open only for merit students. Those who have passed their higher/intermediate (10+2) from a recognised board or university are eligible for courses.
