Matushri Pushpaben Vinubhai Valia College of Commerce, Mumbai, being one of the leading institutes for commerce education since it started in 1993 is an esteemed institute for study. Located in Borivali West, the college is co-educational and comprises undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is affiliated with the University of Mumbai and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to support its vision of imparting quality education. Located on a 4.5-acre land, the college offers the best environment for the 1,506 enrolled students as it is facilitated by a competent staff comprising 26 members of the faculty. 

One of the outstanding features distinguishing the college is the availability of the library which functions as a support base for academic activities of students and members of the faculty. From Monday to Friday, it opens at 1 AM and closes at 5 PM It is designed to provide a sound and scholarly environment for study and research Needs additional reading rooms in classrooms during examinations. Matushri Pushpaben Vinubhai Valia College of Commerce also has two modern computer laboratories that consist of seventy dual-core computers in a Local Area Network. The students are privileged to be connected with an internet facility of 10 Mbps and it is always working and students can get huge lots of intellectual materials. The college caters to sports enthusiasts by availing facilities for indoor games that include chess, carroms, table tennis, and badminton among others and outdoor games and athletics that include kabaddi, kho-kho, football, and cricket among others. This is an area of development that the college fosters as participants compete at different levels, from inter-college to national levels.

The Matushri Pushpaben Vinubhai Valia College of Commerce has only a total of six courses which it offers to students across two key levels – undergraduate and postgraduate. The college provides four full-time undergraduate programmes. The general B.Com and the specialisations offered include B.Com Accounting and Finance, B.Com Banking and Insurance and the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS). However, at the postgraduate level, the courses offered include an M.Com in Advanced Accountancy and an M.Com in Business Management. All these programmes are best done on a full-time basis, while the undergraduate courses take three years and the postgraduate courses two years respectively for every course.

Matushri Pushpaben Vinubhai Valia College of Commerce (MPVVCC), Mumbai, has been imparting quality education in commerce subjects among the top institutions of the country. In general, admission takes place at MPVVCC after the publication of results of the 12th standard, with the option for postgraduate courses to proceed past the announcement of graduation results. It has six courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, specialized according to the different fields of commerce as well as management.

Degree wise Admission Process

Students can come from any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science), but preference might be given to Commerce stream students.

B.Com (Accounting and Finance): It offers special 3-years programs dealing with accounting and finance. The admission process for this program follows the same approach as that of the general B.Com program and takes a major mark for the performance of the candidate in accounting and mathematics of 12th standard examination.

B.Com (Banking and Insurance): A specialized three-year program, admission to this course is based on merit lists drawn from the 12th standard. Those who are really interested in the banking and insurance field are invited to apply.

BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies): This program is a three-year undergraduate course in management. The merit list is based on 12th marks, although any entrance exam conducted by the University of Mumbai in management may also be considered.

M.Com (Advanced Accountancy): This two-year postgraduate program will admit students based on performance in the B.Com or equivalent degree. For short-listing candidates, the college may conduct an entrance exam or interview.

M.Com (Business Management): The second, a two-year postgraduate program, follows admission into this course based on a candidate's exposure and performance during an undergraduate degree, preferably at the field of commerce or business. Entrance tests or interviews may be part of the selection process.
