National Research Institute for Sowa Rigpa, Leh (NRISR) is a pioneering academic institution committed to Sowa Rigpa which is basically the traditional Tibetian system of medicine. Situated in the beautiful place, Leh Ladakh this affiliated college mainly focuses in the specialised education in the field of Ayurveda. It is still unclear when NRISR was founded and where it ranks today, but it is an important organisation for the development and study of this ancient therapy. 

National Research Institute has 18 programmes that offer courses for internationally qualified students and the institute aims at availing quality learning facilities for its students. At the same time, the institute offers several mandatory amenities for the successful development of academic and personal achievements.
