PMS College of Dental Science and Research is a first generation dental institution located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, which was started in the year 2002. Situated in about 5.372 acres, this affiliated college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and also approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The institute has an undergraduate programme in dental surgery and 8 postgraduate programmes, with 783 students enroled on the programmes. It is a matter of pride that our college has faculty members are 165 and student–faculty ratio is ideal. This establishment has a gender distribution in its students which is healthy with female students making up 84% of the undergraduates and 90% of the postgraduate students, the institution prides itself in practicing diversity offered in the dental education.

PMS College of Dental Science and Research offers a wide variety of learning amenities so as to create a favorable learning atmosphere for its students. The campus comprises of male and female hostels and provides quality accommodation and affordable balanced diets cooked in clean steam kitchens by professional chefs. A health centre that meets all the requirements and contains fully equipped first-aid room serves students for their needs. The college has an architectural marvel of a library which is a definite source of all information of dental educationand and other publications from international dental journal and newsletters. For those who have interest in sporting activities, there is indoor and outdoor sporting activities and a modern gym at the campus. There is provision of system required for learning to take place, coupled with wireless internet throughout the campus. A more intimate buffet style cafeteria and a rather large canteen offer great places for people to take snack breaks and interact. The college also maintains effective transport through own bus service to cover the distances from the college to the city.

PMS College of Dental Science and Research has a total of 12 courses to offer with various universities for the different levels of education, be it undergraduate or postgraduate. In the primary academic programme, the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), the college offers 100 seats every year, of which 3-5 seats are available in each Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) specialisation offered by the college. All programmes are complete time base, BDS course takes 5 years while the MDS programmes are 3 years. This is well illustrated by the various courses offered at the college particularly in dental which include Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology, Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry etc.
