SVEC is an affiliated institution of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE. The main mode of admission to SVEC is through the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test, or AP EAMCET. This is a state-level entrance examination conducted every year for admissions to various engineering and professional courses in Andhra Pradesh. The scores obtained in the AP EAMCET are considered for admission to the B.Tech programs offered by the college.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: SVEC provides B.Tech courses in specializations such as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), CSE with Artificial Intelligence, CSE with Cyber Security, CSE with Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Admission to all these courses is through AP EAMCET scores. The college has an intake of 360 seats in all the B.Tech courses.
Diploma: The colleges also offer programs in Diploma-Artificial Intelligence, Diploma - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, Diploma Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma-Electronics and Communications Engineering and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. It is expected to follow the Admission process of its respective state-based polytechnic admission procedures instead of B. Tech.
MCA: The college offers Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course in an approved strength of 180 seats. There may be different entrance examinations based on which they may provide MCA admissions to the students; otherwise, a student gets into MCA admissions based on performance in graduation level.
