Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital, Chennai is one of the reputed institution was established in the year of 1995 is imparting education in the field of Ayurveda besides running a hospital to treat the patients. Nazarathpet based Co- educational college situated at Chennai – Bangalore National Highway this college offer many courses in Ayurveda. This college is recognised from Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) and the college is famous to providing the best quality education in Ayurveda. Currently, there are 40 members in the faculty consisting highly qualified and experienced professionals who deliver an excellent environment to learn Ayurveda.
Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital has an excellent facility that is meant to complement the college learning activities of its students. A large two class-library owns more than 10,000 books and 50 magazines; every student has an opportunity to learn much. It also includes International library with about 218,000 books, and a rich treasure of manuscripts and documents. Particularly for practical knowledge, the college has its health centre where different first aid amenities are available.
The campus occupies additional facilities on the territory of a separate building that can accommodate 300 boys and girls separately, which creates comfortable living conditions for learners who live far from the campus. An auditorium to accommodate 350 students is used for all academic and cultural activities. The college also facilitates transport/ conveyance facilities for day scholars and has arrangement of having student friendly canteen for both teaching and non teaching staff as well as students to make the campus more alive.
Tamil Nadu’s Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital currently has six courses within three degrees. These options include undergraduate, postgraduate, and all of these options are full-time programmes. The proposed flagship course is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) which is a course with an approved admission capacity of 60 students. While at post graduate level it offers MD and MS in different courses related to ayurvedic medical field ; MD Panchakarma etc. Although the number of seats for the postgraduate courses has not been prescribed clearly, these courses are designed for students who want to specialise in certain divisions of Ayurveda.
