Symbiosis School of Biological Sciences (SSBS), building up in 2011, is one of the recognised organisation of learning institution of Symbiosis International University set up in Lavale, Pune. This prestigious institution focuses on postgraduate level and includes a number of specialised biological science courses. The strengths of SSBS are shown in its total student intake of one hundred and thirty-five with a faculty of twenty-one enabling the institution to offer a comprehensible environment for any scientist or researcher. This school has two programmes available for various subfields of bioscience discipline. 

SSBS includes functional laboratories for modern investigative research on biotechnology, biochemistry and nutrition sciences. As a library of biotechnology domain specific and general, various sources are available for faculty and students to get the first-hand access to premier biotechnology based journals and full-text data sources. For physical well-being, the institute has a fully equipped gymnasium, athletic and playground, tennis court, basket ball court, football ground, etc. Also there is a Health care facility under the banner of Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre, a 300 bedded multi specialised Hospital catering to both the campus and the nearby villager.

SSBS provides only two full-time course. Master’s programmes include M.Sc. in Biotechnology and M.Sc. in Biochemistry, all of which take two academic years. For those, who are interested in research.
