Vivekanandha Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (VIETW), going operational from the academic year 2006-2007, is a women engineering college in the heart of Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu. This is an AICTE acknowledged as affiliated with Anna University and accredited by NAAC to demonstrate its concentration on quality education. Located on a colourful campus, VIETW has been providing 9 courses included in 4 degree programmes for exclusively female students. The institute has a total of 271 students with faculty members; the institute provides the best environment for female engineers to learn.
Vivekanandha Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women has a wide range of facilities that are aimed at helping to improve the general experience of the student. Modern amenities are available in this state-of-the-art girls’ hostel to ensure that they live in a good environment and are secure. Students are privileged by the availability of a multispecialty clinical hospital known as Vivekananda Medical Care Hospital established in the institution. There is emphasis on healthcare with the facility having an aerobics gym for the ladies that is an AC gym. A central library with memberships of over 25,000 books and 85 journals is an information centre for the students and the teaching staff. In sports facilities, VIETW believes in the development of a child's total person, and this is only achieved through practice in order to have extra cocurricular activities at district, state, and national levels.
To meet the needs of the students, VIETW has developed a complement of engineering courses for students to choose from. The institute offers 6 full-time programmes: 4 are undergraduate programmes and 2 are postgraduate programmes. For the undergraduate programmes, the university has BE Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and B. Tech in Information Technology. At the postgraduate level, the institute offers MCA and MBA courses. The MCA programme of this institute is economical as compared to other institutes. Total approved intake of the courses for all the professional programmes is 420 seats for the institution, and VIETW provides a highly professional interactive student-teacher faculty ratio for the successful development of the students.
