Those who want to enrol for the online MA Hindi at Karnataka State Open University must meet the eligibility criteria defined by the institution. The eligibility criteria are:
Candidates must have a three-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent without cognate subjects.
OR
Candidates should have successfully completed a three-year B.A./B.Sc./B.A. (Performing Arts) degree programme from any recognised university with Hindi as a subject within Group-I or Group-II with a minimum of 50% marks.
Candidates must hold a degree from any recognised university with Hindi as either an optional or a major subject.
Graduates from any recognised university who have not studied Hindi as a language or optional subject can still be considered equivalent if they have qualified in one of the following Hindi examinations:
i) Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachara Sabha, Chennai's Rashtrabhasha Praveen or Rashtrabhasha Visharda Examination.
ii) Karnataka Hindi Prachara Samithi, Bangalore's Rashtrabhasha Vidwan or Rajabhasha Prakash Examination.
iii) Mysore Hindi Prachara Parishat, Bangalore's Hindi Ratna Examination.
iv) Karnataka Mahila Hindi seva samithi, Bangalore's Bhasha Praveen Examination.
v) Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prayag's Sahitya Vishard i.e., Sahitya Madhyama or Uttama i.e., Sahitya Ratna (with Hindi Sahitya).
