4-year Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 75% marks or equivalent, OR Master’s degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent grading points on other scales, OR M.Phil. degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent.
Application for admission to both full-time and part-time Ph.D. programs is invited two times in a year - October-November (for sessions commencing from January), and April-May (For sessions commencing from August).
All eligible candidates are invited to apply for admission in various specializations, and the NICMAR Ph.D admission test will be conducted for all applicants. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes and comprises 120 questions (60 questions on Research Aptitude and 60 questions on the relevant subject).
The admission test and interview hold a weightage of 70% and 30% respectively in the final shortlisting process for admission. Candidates are expected to show research preparedness and aptitude for research during the interview process.
Only those who have secured a minimum of 50% in the written examination and 50% in the interview separately are eligible for admission. The final admission offer also relies on additional criteria like the candidate’s research aptitude, and the availability of a supervisor in their chosen field.
