In order to become a marine engineer you can go for either one of the following options
Diploma in Marine Engineering
It is a 3 year program. The eligibility criteria is +2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects. Entrance exam like BITSAT, JEE MMAIN etc and in some cases merit based admission is possible
Average fee is INR 50,000 - 3lakh
Average salary INR 4.5 - 6 LPA
Btech in Marine Engineering
It is a 4 year program. The eligibility criteria is +2 with minimum 55% aggregate marks. Physics, chemistry and mathematics are mandatory subjects. Candidates have to clear entrance exams like JEE MAINSor IMU CET.
Average fee INR 50,000 - 15 Lakhs
Average salary INR 5-20 LPA
BSc in Nautical Science
It is a 4 year program. Eligibility requirements is +2 with minimum 50 % marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. Some reputed institutions have entrance exam.
Average fee INR 2-8 lakhs
Average salary INR 6-8 lakhs

The fresh and latest update on IMU website has published that "Due to administrative reasons, the IMU-CET which was scheduled on 29.08.2021 stands cancelled ." The haven't mentioned the exact reason or any alternative date as of now. So, you have to stay tuned for any further announcement.

If you are selected in IMU CET for any IMU affiliated colleges or campuses first of all you have to report to the designated campuses or affiliated Institutions for:-1) document verification, 2) medical fitness examination, 3) and the payment of the program fees of rupees 25000.
So it is necessary for you to pay the fees after you have been selected in IMU CETexam.
