Top-tier colleges like RVCE, MSRIT, BMSCE, and UVCE generally have much lower cutoffs for AI/ML and other popular branches, typically closing admissions for the general category before the 15,000-40,000 rank range.
There's a possibility of getting into AI/ML programs in some private or semi-government colleges, particularly in Tier 2 or Tier 3 cities, where the competition might be less intense and cutoffs could be within your rank range.
KCET RANK WISE COLLEGE LIST
Consider exploring other engineering branches or even considering colleges outside of Bangalore if you are open to different locations.
With a KCET 2025 rank of 1 lakh 25 thousand securing an AI & ML seat in top tier engineering colleges like RVCE , MSRIT , BMSCE or UVCE is highly unlikely as their cutoffs are generally much lower . However, there is a possibility of gaining admission to AI & ML programs in some mid tier or emerging colleges especially if you are open to exploring options and considering other engineering branches.
1.Top colleges typically closes AI & ML admissions for the general category before the 15000-40000 rank range .
2.While Top colleges may be out of reach but there are many good colleges that in Karnataka that offers AI & ML programs and may have cutoffs within your rank range

Hello,
Achieving a rank of approximately 1.25 lakh in KCET 2025 makes securing admission in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) at premier engineering institutions in Karnataka quite difficult, particularly in popular colleges in Bangalore such as RVCE, MSRIT, BMSCE, or UVCE.
These colleges typically shut AI & ML admissions for the general category well before the 15,000–40,000 rank range. Nevertheless, if you are receptive to less competitive institutions (particularly in Tier 2 or Tier 3 cities in Karnataka), there may still be private colleges providing admission to AI & ML programs for higher ranks. It might not be your top choice, but it's a way .
Hope this helps. All the best!

A mock allotment will be done in August so you can get an idea of where you might get in, and then the actual seat allotment will happen shortly after that.
There will be multiple rounds , so even if you don’t get your first choice in Round 1, you will still have chances in later rounds. Start preparing your documents now so you are ready when counselling opens. Keep checking the KEA website for exact dates and updates!

To know General Merit (GM) seats in KCET 2025, first download the KCET seat matrix from the official KEA website. In that file, each course and college will have seats divided by category. Look for the GM column, which shows how many seats are for General category (no reservation). Usually, around 50%–55% seats go to GM.
With a KCET rank of 18,701 and belonging to OBC 3A category, getting a free seat in top-tier colleges like RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT for CS/AI/ISE is difficult. However, you have good chances for EC (Electronics & Communication) in some reputed colleges.
