I am studying in class 12 BOSSE Board (Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education) this year my results will come in june 2025. am i eligible for COMEDK and KCET. however the BOSSE board is Approved by AIU but i dont know regulations of KCET and COMEDK. I am very scared pls help

Mayumi DAS 24th Apr, 2025

Thanks for explaining clearly — and I totally understand your fear, but let’s break this down calmly so you know exactly where you stand.

You're Studying in Class 12 under BOSSE Board (Board of Open Schooling and Skill Education)

  • Result expected: June 2025

  • BOSSE is approved by AIU (Association of Indian Universities), which is a positive sign .

Now let’s look at eligibility for both:

1. COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board .

  • Recognized = State board / CBSE / ICSE / NIOS / any AIU-recognized board .

  • Must have Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/Electronics as subjects.

  • Must score at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC in Karnataka) .

Conclusion for COMEDK: YES – You are eligible , because BOSSE is recognized by AIU, which COMEDK accepts.

2. KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)

This is more state-specific and slightly stricter.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have passed 2nd PUC (Pre-University) or equivalent from a recognized Board under the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka .

  • Open schooling boards like **NIOS or other open boards are usually not accepted unless explicitly listed.

  • Even if AIU approves a board, KCET may not accept open school boards like BOSSE unless Karnataka's PUE department recognizes it .

Conclusion for KCET: As of now, you are likely not eligible for KCET with BOSSE, unless the Karnataka PUE Department has specifically included BOSSE in its accepted list. They usually don’t accept NIOS or other open boards either.

What You Should Do Immediately

  • Write to KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) to ask whether BOSSE is accepted for KCET.

Email: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected])

Subject: Clarification on BOSSE Board Eligibility for KCET 2025

I can help you draft this email if you want.

  • Apply for COMEDK when registration opens — you’re eligible .

  • Consider other options like CUET, private university entrance exams, or state-level exams where AIU recognition is accepted.

Don't Panic — You're Not Alone

Many students from open boards like BOSSE, NIOS, etc. go through this confusion every year. The key is to focus on the entrance exams where your board is accepted , and to verify officially with those that aren’t clear.

272 in puc pcm and 83 in kcet, what would be the kcet rank 2025

Mayumi DAS 24th Apr, 2025

Based on your scores— 272 marks in PUC (PCM) and 83 marks in KCET 2025 —your estimated KCET rank is likely to fall between 35,000 and 45,000 . https://engineering.careers360.com/

How This Rank Is Calculated

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) calculates the KCET rank by giving equal weightage (50%) to both your KCET score and your 2nd PUC (PCM) marks. Here's how your scores translate:

  • KCET Score Percentage : (83 / 180) × 100 ≈ 46.11%

  • PUC PCM Percentage : (272 / 300) × 100 ≈ 90.67%

  • Final Weighted Average : (46.11% + 90.67%) / 2 ≈ 68.39%

This weighted average aligns with the rank range of 35,000 to 45,000 , based on previous years' data. https://engineering.careers360.com/

What This Means for You

With a rank in this range, you have a fair chance of securing admission in several engineering colleges in Karnataka, especially in branches like:

However, gaining admission to highly competitive branches such as Computer Science & Engineering or Information Science in top-tier colleges may be challenging.

Next Steps

  • Participate in KCET Counseling : Ensure you register for the counseling process and fill in your preferred choices based on your rank and interests.

  • Use College Predictors : Tools like the KCET Rank Predictor can help you identify colleges and branches that align with your rank. https://engineering.careers360.com/

  • Stay Updated : Keep an eye on official announcements from KEA regarding counseling dates and procedures.

My bord exam pcm is 276 and KCET marks is 110 what is the expected rank

harsh singh 24th Apr, 2025

To estimate your expected rank in KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) based on your marks, we need to consider the following:

Your KCET marks are 110.

The rank in KCET is influenced by various factors, including the overall performance of candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, and how well you performed relative to others.

Based on previous trends, a score of 110 marks typically places you in the range of 15,000 to 25,000 rank for general category candidates. However, since you mentioned your board exam PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) marks as 276, if you're from an OBC category or have other reservations, your rank may be better due to category-wise relaxation in cutoffs.

To get a more accurate estimate of your rank, you should check the official KCET rank predictor or the official KCET website after the exam results.

    : KCET Percentage = (110 / 180) × 100 ≈ 61.11%

  3. Final Weighted Score = (92 + 61.11) / 2 = 76.56%

Expected KCET Rank :

Based on past trends and this score, your expected rank is likely to be in the range of 12,000 to 20,000 .

This is a very decent rank , and it can get you into good branches in many engineering colleges across Karnataka.
