Hi, I have met all eligible criteria to get a seat in DTU. My schooling is from Delhi and my caste certificate is from Harayana, so just wanted to check if it comes under 85% seat allocation criteria (School from Delhi) and there shouldnt be a problem if my caste cert. from other state than delhi

Manav 10th Jun, 2025

85% Seat Allocation for Delhi Candidates : DTU reserves 85% of its seats across programs, including B.Tech, BBA, and MBA, for candidates who have completed their qualifying education—such as Class 12 for undergraduate courses or a Bachelor’s degree for MBA—from a recognized institution located in Delhi. Given that your schooling is from Delhi, you fulfill this criterion and are eligible for the Delhi quota. This reservation policy prioritizes you over out-of-state candidates, who compete for the remaining 15% of seats, thereby enhancing your chances of securing admission.

Validity of Caste Certificate from Haryana : Your caste certificate from Haryana is valid for claiming reservation benefits at DTU, provided it is issued by a competent authority and adheres to the Government of India’s guidelines for categories such as OBC-NCL, SC, or ST. DTU, as a state university, accepts caste certificates from other states for reservation purposes, so your certificate should not pose any issue, assuming it aligns with the category you’ve applied under. For instance, if applying under OBC-NCL, the certificate must be recent (typically issued within the last year) and reflect your status on the Central OBC list. The 85% Delhi quota is determined solely by your schooling location, not the state of issuance of your caste certificate, so this aspect does not impact your eligibility for the quota.

MBA-Specific Eligibility at DTU : If you are applying for DTU’s MBA program, the eligibility criteria include a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates). Admission typically requires a valid CAT score, followed by a counseling process or an interview. As a Delhi candidate, you fall under the 85% quota, and your caste certificate can be utilized to avail reservation benefits, potentially easing cutoff requirements or prioritizing your seat allocation.

My rank in met(manipal entrance test)2025 is 12456 so at what campuses I can get cse specializations?

harsh singh 9th Jun, 2025

With a MET 2025 rank of 12,456, you have a good chance to get CSE specialization at Manipal campuses, but mainly at smaller or newer campuses rather than the main Manipal campus.

Likely Campuses for CSE with your rank:

Manipal Jaipur

Manipal Hyderabad

Manipal Bangalore (some branches)

Manipal Sikkim

Possibly Manipal Dubai (if applicable)

Less likely but possible with waitlist or management quota:

Main Manipal campus (Manipal Karnataka) usually needs a rank below 5,000 for CSE.

Vasundhra 3rd Jun, 2025

Dear Candidate ,
With a MET 2025 score of 184 out of 400 and  an All India Rank of 221 , you  have a very good chance of getting a seat in the  Bachelor of Occupational Therapy ( BOT ) course at Manipal College  of Health Professions . In previous  years , the closing rank for BOT has gone up to around 797 , so your current rank is well within the expected cutoff range. You should stay updated on the counseling schedule through the official Manipal Portal and be ready with your documents for the admission process .

If I get 7299 rank in MET exam will I get ECE at main branch

harsh singh 3rd Jun, 2025

With a MET rank of 7,299, securing admission to Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal campus is unlikely based on previous years' cutoffs.

Previous Year ECE Cutoffs at MIT Manipal

In the 2024 admission cycle, the closing ranks for ECE at MIT Manipal were:

Round 1: 5,909

Round 2: 6,349

Your rank of 7,299 exceeds these cutoffs, indicating that admission to ECE at the Manipal campus may not be feasible

lisa 3rd Jun, 2025

With an 8.9k MET rank, there's a good chance you can get into the B.Tech IT program at Manipal University Bangalore, but it depends on the specific cutoff for that program and your category (if applicable).

The expected cutoff for MIT Manipal can be between 5k to 35k.

130 score met banglore cse seats expected

Sujal Singh 30th May, 2025

With a score of 130 in KCET 2025, getting a CSE seat in top government or top-tier private colleges in Bangalore may be challenging, especially under the General category. However, you still have a chance in some good private colleges depending on your category (like SC, ST, OBC, 3A, etc.) and whether you belong to a rural or Kannada medium quota. Colleges like Atria Institute of Technology, AMC Engineering College, or New Horizon College of Engineering may be within reach for CSE or similar branches like ISE or AI&DS.

Keep checking the official KEA counseling portal for cutoff ranks from the previous years, as they give a clearer idea of what to expect. Also, try keeping backup options like Information Science, Artificial Intelligence, or ECE in slightly lower-tier colleges, as they sometimes offer similar opportunities. If you’re aiming for CSE specifically, you can also consider applying for management quota or explore spot round counseling if available.

can I get cse in any decent college. got 77% in cbse boards, 124 in MET and 79 percentile in JEE mains, gave MHTCET expecting around 100-110 marks. Is CSE possible or do I have no other option than drop year

sadafreen356 30th Jun, 2025

It is possible to get CSE in some decent colleges with your scores, but it might not be in the most sought-after institutions. Your 79 percentile in JEE Mains and expected 100-110 in MHT CET, combined with your 77% in CBSE, suggests that top NITs or IITs are unlikely, but there are still good options available.

JEE Mains:

79 percentile is decent, but generally, higher percentiles are needed for top NITs and IIITs for CSE.

MHT CET:

Expecting 100-110 marks is a good range, but it depends on the competition and cutoff trends for your desired branch and colleges.

CBSE Boards:

77% is a reasonable score, but it might not be a major factor in your college selection given the other entrance exam scores.

Possible options:

NITs:

You might have a chance in some of the newer or lower-ranked NITs for CSE, or other branches like Civil or Mechanical,

IIITs:

Some IIITs might offer admission based on JEE Mains score, but it's advisable to research the specific college and branch.

State Government Colleges:

Consider state-level engineering colleges in Maharashtra or other states, especially if you have domicile. Some might have good CSE programs.

Private Colleges:

Many private engineering colleges offer CSE programs, and you might find some with good placements and facilities.

Recommendations:

1. Participate in counselling:

Participate in JoSAA counselling for NITs and IIITs, and state-level counselling for other colleges.

2. Explore different branches:

Be flexible with your branch choice, and consider other options like IT, ECE, or other related fields, if CSE is not available.

3. Research colleges thoroughly:

Look into the curriculum, faculty, placements, and infrastructure of the colleges you're interested in,

4. Consider private colleges:

If you are open to private institutions, explore options in your state or other states, especially if they have good placement records.

5. Do not drop a year:

With your current scores, you have a reasonable chance of getting into a decent engineering college. While it might not be the top-tier institutions, it's not necessary to drop a year unless you are absolutely set on a specific college or branch.

hi, i have a third improvement exam in my 2nd puc board in june and my result will come somewhere in 1stweek of july, can i update my board marksin july for met and will my rankings change if my board marks increase in PCME

gopi 28th May, 2025

Hi Johan,

You can only amend your second PUC board marks to your KCET (or MET) after your third improvement exams. You will have to upload your new marks on the KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) portal after the results come out in the first week of July in the allowed window of time for correction or updating the grades.

If the marks increased in the PCME subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English), it could affect your KCET ranking, since 50% of your CET rank is based on the board exam marks in PCME subjects. Make sure you are monitoring the official site for ongoing information about time required to enter marks as well as document verification.

hi i have 121 marks in met and 86% in boards. can i get cse in banglore campus..

harsh singh 28th May, 2025

CSE is the most sought-after branch, even at the Bangalore campus.

With a MET score of 121, your chances for direct admission into CSE are moderate to low, based on previous year trends (cutoff for CSE usually ranges between 105–125 for MIT Bangalore depending on competition).

However, your 86% board marks are good, which can strengthen your profile slightly in case there's a tie or marginal cutoff.

i got 86% in cbse and 121 marks in MET exam please predict my rank

harsh singh 28th May, 2025

With 121 marks in MET 2025, your estimated rank is 18,000–25,000.

Likely Options:

Manipal Jaipur/Sikkim – IT, ECE, other branches

Manipal Main Campus – Unlikely for CSE or IT

Your 86% CBSE has minimal impact on MET rank.
