Hey Anubhab,

Looking at the previous year's data and this year's statistics there's a possible chance of you getting into St. Xavier's Mumbai for B.Sc in Economics. You might not make it in the first merit but probably you'll make it in the second merit.

You can go visit St. Xavier's Mumbai's official site to check last year's cut offs and merit list. You'll get an idea about it. I wish you all the best!

Mahaveer Student Expert 15th May, 2019

ADMISSION PROCESS:

The admission is based on the cut-off issued by the university or college. The major admission process is only on a merit basis. A few universities like Banaras Hindu University also conduct their Undergraduate Entrance Test [UET]. Admission is made according to merit in the entrance test, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements. The process starts in the month of May. The first step is to duly fill the admission form. It can either online or offline depending on the institution.

The admission to the Bachelor of Science in Zoology is based on the marks attained by the students in class Xll. Most colleges and universities release cut off lists after the students have filled the admission form. If the aggregate percentage obtained by the student in the class Xll examination satisfies the cut-off criterion issued by the college, he/she shall be granted admission based on the merit list.

Bachelor degree in Zoology can also be awarded through distance education mode. There are a number of colleges and universities in India that offer bonafide education in Zoology through distance or correspondence mode.

The eligibility criterion for admission to B.Sc. Zoology is that the candidate must have studied the duly filled application forms to the university. In this mode too. Different universities release cut-off lists for enrollment. Admission is granted to those fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Students must ensure the validity of the course they are pursuing and the college/university in this medium.

Eligibility for B.Sc. Zoology:

The minimum eligibility criterion for a student to take admission in B.Sc. Zoology is that the candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in class 12 and should have attained a minimum of 50% aggregate in 10+2 examinations. There is no eligibility percentage for Distance/Correspondence mode of education.

what is the minimum percentage required for an OBC candidate in St. Xaviers College, Kolkata for b.com. hons.

mdsameenabanu Student Expert 7th May, 2019

HI,

First of all it depends on the board to which your school is affiliated to . The cutt off released by the college is for 3 boards namely, ISC ; CBSE and WB board .

For BCOM (hons.) morning (boys )

ISC - 93-95%
CBSE - 95-97%
WB - 83-85%

For BCOM (hons.) evening section (co-ed)

ISC - 95-97%
CBSE - 96-98%

For BBA (hons.) evening (co-ed)

There is an entrance test for BBA and so the marks is on a 50-50 aggregate
50% of boards mark + 50% of entrance exam mark

ISC - 66+
CBSE - 69+
WB - 61+

NOTE : The cut off provided is basically for the students belonging to the general category . For the reserved ones I can just say that the cut off is comparatively low .

GOOD LUCK
