About VITMEE 2025
VITMEE 2025 - Vellore Institute of Technology has uploded the VITMEE seat allotment result for MTech programmes on the official website, vit.ac.in. - Candidates should be of Indian nationality and must have graduated from any Institution in India. Or,
- Foreign and PIO/ NRI candidates are also eligible to apply separately.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates will have obtained a minimum aggregate of 60% or first-grade in full-time graduation degree from any recognized Institute/ University.
- Candidates have to make sure they graduated from a suitable degree programme for a particular M.Tech specialisation as prescribed.
- Candidates in the final year of an undergraduate degree are also eligible for admission, provided the final semester/ year is completed before the commencement of the counselling process.

With a VITMEE rank of 1700 , getting M.Tech CSE (AI/ML or Cyber Security) at VIT Vellore is quite difficult , as these are top-demand specializations and usually close within the top 400–600 ranks .
Good chances in Chennai or other campuses with similar courses.

• VLSI Design is one of the main M.Tech specializations and typically witnesses closing ranks above 1000 in most cases.
• VIT prefers higher-ranked students in initial rounds, and your rank is comfortably within the usual cutoff.

With a VITMEE rank of 861, your chances of getting M.Tech in VLSI Design at VIT Chennai is quite good, as Chennai has ceteris paribus relatively lower closing ranks compared to Vellore. Nevertheless, VIT Vellore (the main and hence more competetive campus) is expected to have a cutoff that is higher for most of its in-demand specializations, including VLSI. Admission also depends on seat availability, reservation or reservation categories and competition level per year. I suggest you maintain a preference for both campuses during counselling and remain open-minded. You may receive Chennai in the initial rounds and later upgrade to Vellore, subject to seat availability.
