Hello,
Fine arts will be considered as top four subjects in universities like DU, JNU,BHU etc.
Some colleges withhold 2.5% from the percentage obtained using the fine art marks if it is an additional course.
Note that it also depends on the college and the course.
I thus advise you to browse the websites of several universities in order to get information.
Thank You

Hi there.
A PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) is a doctoral research degree that takes between 3 and 6 years to complete and focuses on research studies in fields such as the arts, sciences, engineering, management, pharmacy, mass communication, law, and commerce, among others. Government Institutions for PhD Admissions are public universities that are overseen by State Governments or the Union Government of India.
For the academic year 2022–2023, DTU Delhi, NIFT, NISER Bhubaneswar, and BIT Mesra are accepting applications for PhD admission. The final week of May 2022 will mark the deadline for applications to these universities.
A few universities, such as IIMs, IITs, and Delhi University, have already ended their registration period for PhD admissions in 2022 around September 2021.
Dear Student,
According to the eligibility criteria, graduate degree from recognised university along with cut off marks in the respective subjects in the entrance exam is needed to take admission in IISC and IISER. Until and unless you crack the exam and get a good rank, your gap year won’t matter.
Admission at IISER -Admission to the MS programme will depend on results from IISER TVM's national level online screening exams in each topic. Interviews performed by the individual schools will be used to choose among the candidates who were shortlisted as a result of the screening test.
Admission at IISC - 50% written test and 50% interview make up the selection process. Based on their GATE scores in BT, BM, EC, EY, MA, PH, and XL as well as their JAM 2022 scores in BT, CY, MA, and PH, candidates will be short listed for the test and interview.
