i am a commerce student 12 cbse , i have six subjects - english , hindi , business, economics, accountancy ,physical education.i have failed in accountancy . what will be my result

Yash Teotia 23rd Jul, 2025

Hello Mona

As you are a Class 12th CBSE Commerce Student and have failed in Accountancy, you will be shown "PASS" as you have passed in five subjects including the additional subject (also, once check what is written on your result through CBSE result website).

The Accountancy subject will show "FAILED" or "INELIGIBLE".

It is up to you if you want to give supplementary exam and upon your future goals. Because in the future some organisations may ask for full PASS and while some may not.

Thank You!!!

You can consider top government or autonomous colleges with good teaching, infrastructure, and a ragging-free environment like Delhi University, BHU, and JNU. Based on your academic background, colleges such as Miranda House and Kirori Mal (Delhi University), Presidency College (Chennai), Government Arts College (Coimbatore and Kumbakonam), Rajah Serfoji College (Thanjavur), and A.N. College (Patna) are strong options. These colleges are NAAC-accredited, have good academic records, and offer a safe and supportive campus atmosphere. Check their official websites for admission updates and eligibility.

66% with coi holder commerce student ...... Will I get admission in tadong college to do bcom even if iam fail in accountancy

Kishan Bhakat 20th May, 2025

Hi! With 66% in your 12th Commerce and a COI, you have a good chance of getting admission to Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College (Tadong) for B.Com, especially if you meet the subject requirements like Accounts, Economics, and Math.

You’ll need to clear the CUET UG entrance exam first, then during counselling, you can choose this college.

if I fail in 1 subject out of 6 subject like I fail in accountancy and my additional subject is physical education, then i am considering pass or not .

Tanisha chaudhary 11th May, 2025

HEY THERE!!!

Yes, if you flunk Accountancy (your principal subject) but clear Physical Education (your other subject), then you would be rated as "Pass", CBSE and all other state board principles instruct.

How It Works

If you have 6 subjects (5 main + 1 additional) and you have failed in one main subject, but passed in the additional subject, then the board will substitute the failed main subject with your additional subject marks (Physical Education, in your case).

You will be "Pass" and your result will be computed applying the additional subject in place of the failed subject.

If I fail in the comp exam accountancy for any reason, will I be able to pass the next class or not??

kumardurgesh1802 30th Apr, 2025

Hello Komal,

If you fail in the compartment exam for Accountancy (or any subject), you will still have the opportunity to pass the next class . However, there are a few important points to consider:

1. Compartment Exam Purpose: A compartment exam is meant to give you a chance to improve in subjects where you failed the regular exam. If you fail the compartment exam, you may be required to retake the subject in the next academic year.

2. Impact on Promoting to the Next Class

  • Typically, failing one subject does not prevent you from moving to the next class , as long as you pass the other subjects .

  • Retaking the subject in the next year is common, but you’ll need to clear it to be eligible for further exams or graduation.

    3. Board Exam Policies: If you fail the compartment exam but still meet the other criteria , your school or board may allow you to promote to the next class, but you will be required to clear the failed subject during the next opportunity .

    4. Future Consequences: Failing repeatedly may affect your final graduation or board certification , but one-time failure in a subject like Accountancy generally doesn’t stop you from progressing, unless the school or board has strict rules.

You can reach out to your school for specific details about their promotion policy and retake options for your compartment exam.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
