Major difference between BE and BTECH degrees...I have choosen aeronautical engineering so which degree is better.

Hrisheekesh Singh 9th Aug, 2020

Hi Nahush,

Broadly, there is not much difference between the two degrees. The only point of difference is Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) is more focused on theoretical study, while Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) is more focused on practical study. There is no major change between the two regarding curriculum, mandatory practical training or even future demand.

If you have chosen aeronautical engineering then, B.Tech is better than B.E. degree.

I hope this information helps you.

Harshit 3rd Aug, 2020

Hey,

It’s good that you are interested to joine in Aeronautical Engineering course. So you have completed class 12th. So ,after completing 12th standard , you may apply for B.E in Aeronautical Engineering.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED ARE :-

  1. 12th standard should be cleared or studying
  2. You must be a science plus maths student.(excluding bio).
  3. Commerce and arts candidate are not elegible.
  4. You should have a minimum of 75%marks inorder to apply for this course.

One important thing is that admission in this course is through merit list and the competition is really very tough. So you need to have a good score in any engineering entrance exam if you are interested to go into aeronautics.

Entrance exams like Jee mains and advance , Bitsat, IIST , SET.

All the best for your future!!!!

I have scored 344 in manipal entrance test. so can I qualify in manipal institute of technology for aeronautical engineering?

Arshiya Singh 7th May, 2022

I dont know about manipal university, however being a LPU alumni, i would recommned LPU.

LPU is a right place for Aerospace Engineering. The programme comes with engineering minors:
1. AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE
2. SPACE ENGINEERING and pathway electives:
3. ADVANCED AEROSPACE TESTING AND DOCUMENTATION for industry immersion. LPU is renowned private university with more than 30,000 students and experienced faculty from various institutes. There are more than 250 courses which are offered by the University. LPU is recognised by the University Grant Commission (UGC), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA) and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). LPU is ranked among the top 3 in universities in India for tie-ups with more than 25 countries for international studies and internships. LPU puts 100% effort to provide best placement to the students and have succeeded as well. Hope this helps.

Hello my so got 86% in cbse 10th exams.he has taken strem PCM other subject given to him was Economic but he would like to do PCM with Computer science (CS) he wants to do study for Aeronautical engineering I just want to know if he will nit get CS is he will get stream in engineering ?

Anushka Singh 1st Aug, 2020

Sir,

It is totally up to your son, which subjects he wants to study. Admission in all the NITs and IITs is based on his rank in JEE MAINS( For NITs) and JEE ADVANCED (For IITs). And his branch or stream also depends upon his performance in the exam and the cut off .

Hope this will help.

ALL THE BEST.

is aeronautical engineering good in present days and does it have scope in india

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 31st Jul, 2020
Hello,

At present, aeronautical engineering is not very good field in comparison to other branch of engineering. Our country at present is not investing much into the sector and hence there are very limited opportunities. However, in my opinion we will see a huge boost into this field in coming year. After PM Modi announced that India will now try to become self reliant, it is very clear that all the sectors will get a boost in near future and hence if you are genuinely interested in aeronautical engineering then i would suggest you to go for it.

I hope this helps.
