If your rank is 1374 in the HFC category, you have a good chance of getting admission in Assam Agricultural University (AAU) under the Higher Fee Category.
HFC seats are meant for students from the North Eastern states. If you are eligible under this category, then your rank is good enough for getting admission into courses like BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, BSc Community Science, or even Veterinary courses, depending on seat availability and your preference.
To get admission, you need to apply online through the AAU admission portal. Then you have to attend the Common Entrance Test (CET UG AAU). After that, you will go through counselling, where you can choose your course and campus.
The counselling usually happens around July or August. After seat allotment, you must pay the fee and complete document verification.
For HFC students, the fee for BSc Agriculture is around Rs 79,000 for the first semester and Rs 68,000 for the second semester.
You should regularly check the official AAU website for updates and admission dates.

Hello aspirant, With a rank of around 11,152 in AP EAMCET (Agricultural stream), your son's chances of securing a seat in B.Sc Agriculture at ANGRAU are strong. Last year, the general category closing ranks for non-farmer seats were around 4,300 to 4,700 in constituent (government) colleges, and extended up to about 11,000 to 14,000 in affiliated (private) ones. Since 11,152 is well within that broader range, he has good scope—especially in private colleges, and possibly in government ones if seats remain in later rounds or under special quotas.
He should register for AP EAMCET counselling, prioritise ANGRAU as a top preference, and continue participating actively through all rounds—including mop-up or stray vacancies. With his rank, securing a seat is highly probable.
Hello,
The practical cut-off for B.Sc Agriculture is different for each agricultural university and depends on the exam you are applying through.
For example:
CUET-based universities : General category cut-off is usually around 500–525 marks.
BCECE (Bihar) : General category cut-off is around 600 marks.
KCET (Karnataka) : Cut-off varies every year and is given after each counselling round.
OUAT (Odisha) : Cut-off for general category is around 50% in the entrance exam.
Cut-offs are different for each category and change every year. It's best to check the official website of the university or the exam body for exact details.
Hope it helps !
Dear aspirant,
Actually, 28% percentile in CET may make it challenging to get into a top government agricultural college, but not impossible. Private colleges and colleges with lower cutoffs might be an option. As you know different colleges have different cutoff scores for admission. Some colleges, especially those with a lower ranking or those, that are less popular, might have lower cut offs. Also if you are from a reserved category then you may have a better chance to ge a seat in agriculture in a private college.
Good luck
For Agricultural Engineering in AP EAPCET, the expected cutoff ranks for top colleges like the College of Agricultural Engineering, Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University , range from 79661- 122440. And private colleges like Aditya Engineering College may have a closing rank around 99461. In government colleges a rank less than 5000 is considered as good and in private colleges they accept upto 25000 rank. Dear Candidate , With a BiPC stream rank of 13,109 in AP EAPCET 2025 and belonging to the SC category , you have very good chance of getting a free government seat in Agricultural Engineering in Andhra Pradesh . Government colleges like the College of Agricultural Engineering , Madakasira and ANGRAU's Bapatla campus have previously admitted SC category students with ranks much higher than yours. Since your rank is well within that range , your are likely to secure a seat in the first or second round of counselling.
