Which Book is better to Study in Depth about Human Anatomy.. Chaurasia or Greys? Physiotherapy

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 30th Aug, 2019
Dear Priyalini, it depends mostly on the purpose of the book. If you are preparing for exams, Chaurasia is the best because it gives point wise information which is easy to read and understand. Given the pressure of reading a tough subject and on top of that remembering all the nerves, their  courses, etc Chaurasia is better. But having said that Gray's Anatomy cannot be brushed aside. It has in depth information and most of medical aspirants use it for reference purposes. But because Physiotherapy doesn't use Anatomy for clinical and research purposes in its treatment, Chaurasia is good. But if you are planing on studying Masters abroad, Gray's is the best.

what is important question asked in anatomy in mbbs?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 10th Aug, 2019
Dear Rohit, there is nothing such as important in MBBS. It is not like your 10th or 12th that you prepare on important topics leaving the rest. Anatomy is the study of bodily structure including bones, nervous system and everything as in whole. Unless you read about radial nerve, you will not know what is radial plexus and what causes Golfer's elbow. Everything is interlinked. So no topic is less important than the other.

Which one is the best for anatomy VISHRAM SINGH or B D CHAURASIAs??

Ritik nakra Student Expert 9th Aug, 2019

Hey! B D Chaurasia's anatomy book comes with colourfull diagrams and short text, point to point knowledge which is easy to learn and  good for one day before exam reading. Where as if we come to Vishram singh's anatomy it has in depth knowledge as compared to B D Chaurasia's anatomy but the topic are given in big paragraph format which is hard to read. Hope this may help you.

how to learn anatomy in mbbs 1st year?

Shivam bhardwaj Student Expert 3rd Aug, 2019
Hello Rohit,
Anatomy is always a nightmare of first year medical students. This is a different subject, unlike biochemistry you have to study anatomy on the regular basis. If you study anatomy before 1 week of the exam, then it never gets completed. It is a subject of diagrams. More diagram you draw in paper, more are chances to get good marks in this. But keep in mind, diagrams should be neat and clean.
Books which can you refer for studies:
1. General Anatomy- B.D Chaurasiya
2. Embryology- N.B Singh
3. Dissection- Cunningham
4. Whole Course- B.D Chaurasiya
Hope this will help you.
Good luck

Do practicals of anatomy and dissection occur regularly in new medical colleges and do they have good supply of bodies for dissection?

shruti jha Student Expert 20th Jul, 2019

Hi Yvetal,

Actually the number of cadaver depends upon the college's management and other aspects.

Generally tgey provide 1 cadaver in between 5 or 6 students during practicals.

Also, there is fixed time table for each anatomy, physiology, biochemistry.

More details will be given when you join the college.

Good luck.

Which is the best book for anatomy in MBBS 1st year... Vishram Singhor Inderbir Singh?

mansiprofessional234 Student Expert 15th Jul, 2019

Hey amrit!

Anatomy is one of the most difficult topics that you will face in MBBS . So , it is better to go for the best book for anatomy , which can clear your concepts and can help you score better marks. So , for the same , you should go for vishram singh book , as it has better diagrammatic representation than IB Singh . Also , IB sjngh contains so many errors. Errors are also there in vishram singh but much less than IB singh.

Well , you can also go for gray and langman for other parts of anatomy.

Hope it helps!
