The basic qualification for any exam is that

You need to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in each Physics, Chemistry & Maths. For Marine engineering, however, you need 60% marks in these 3 subject plus 50% in English.

The Anna University offers 29 undergraduate and 90 postgraduate programmes and 41 undergraduate and 57 postgraduate programmes in affiliated institutions.

The candidates are selected in BE/BTech on basis of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission ( TNEA) counseling

For BArch, the students selected on basis of NATA score.

The students that seek admission to ME/MTech are selected on basis of TANCET/GATE score.

The university offers PhD and MPhil with more 4 specialisations.

The students are selected in MSc/MPhil on basis of entrance exam conducted by university.
