Yes, if you pursue medical i. e physics chemistry and Biology in 10+2 along with Maths, then you will be eligible for architecture i. e B. Arch.
For example,
JEE MAIN is the most widely accepted examination examination for your B. Arch / Btech etc and Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-
-) Qualification required :- to be eligible for JEE mains you need 10+2/equivalent qualification.

IGNOU has a larger number of regional centres as in every state of India, under RCs there are numerous study centre unlike in DU SOL where study centre are limited to Delhi only, IGNOU offers a varied number of undergraduate, post-graduate, pg diploma, certificate, diploma to name a few courses, but DU SOL only offers selective courses, also IGNOU has universal presence as in study centres are also abroad, generally the study materials of IGNOU are considered better than that of DU SOL,
Architecture is a course of designing the building, restoration of old creativity. Your son will get admission in architecture college of Mumbai after completing 10th examination. I'll suggest you some college name below

Admission to B.Architecture in India is based on NATA or JEE Main Paper 2 score. The application window for NATA second session is open now so you can apply for NATA second session. Well, you can definitely pursue architecture course after graduation if that is what you wish to do in future. Also you can get into Project Management as well but I suggest you should work hard in your own stream assuming you have not lost your interest in the field. Don't ever fall into false claims by anyone that such and such field is very good or you can make more money in a particular branch. Your passion must drive you. There are many engineers who go for MBA and excel in that field as well while some stick to their streams and do M.TECH instead. Many civil engineers grab government jobs as well and there are some who prefer becoming IT professionals rather than willing to go to "construction sites"!
So what I would suggest is follow your passion, choose a field in which you are most comfortable working.

No, it is not at all necessary give both JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2. If you wanna go for Architecture(B.Arch/B.Plan) then, only giving paper 2 will work for you.
