I don't think filling incorrect initial of your mother will cause you any problem at the time of counseling. These things are manageable at the time of counseling. That's why they do document verification to check the correct details.

Don't worry it's a very minute error. Plus you have given the correct initial in the admit card. At the time of counseling do inform them about it or rather mail them so that you will have a proof that your contacted them regarding the problem.

The JEE main is conducted twice a year and for the final rank list, the total number of candidates will be consider. The percentile is a relative calculation and if the number of students decrease then your rank will increase but that will not be a major changing factor as you are expecting for a good student.

So your attendance is must/mandatory in college records but however there are some universities like IGNOU, Mumbai University IDOL, and so on, which offers distance learning programmes under which you do your college studies at your convenient location and you only have to visit the allotted center for examinations.
