Iam persuing BTech in Automation and robotics.. So iam trying to take the different stream in GATE... Pls explain will it be possible ornot

Siddhant Student Expert 28th Jul, 2019

You can take the different stream in GATE entrance exam . It is just that if you want to apply for a particular stream , for that stream you should have a valid gate score . Some colleges allow to change the branch if you have done BTECH. from a different stream  . Most of the IIT'S have a criteria  that if you want to change a branch in Mtech than it should have some relativity for the branch you have studied in Btech .  You have studied automation and robotics  , so if you want now computer science or information security , so you can apply for Mtech in computer science engineering because it has relativity to your automation and robotics .

What is the scope of Engineering Physics and Mechanical with Automation

Aman Kumar 25th Jul, 2019

Dear Harjot,

Mechanical engineering is one of the topmost career choices made by students in India. There are a lot of career opportunities in this field for young aspirants. Graduates from this field are mainly employed in manufacturing firms. Mechanical engineers can seek employment in private or public sector industries of various types. They can also find a job in government departments such as CPWD, defense, PWD, posts, and telegraphs. Other sectors such as electronics, chemical, power plants, steel plants, agricultural, space research institutes, automobile and aeronautical as well as the railways, need mechanical engineers to design and maintain their machinery.

Candidates with a postgraduate degree or with additional management degree can find work in executive and managerial positions. In the agricultural division, mechanical engineers play a major role by establishing service centers for maintenance of pump sets, tractors, electric motors, oil engines, and other agricultural equipment. Candidates who are interested in research activities can work with many public/private sectors research organizations. Professionals in this career can also opt for teaching jobs in universities and colleges. Postgraduate students with experience can also seek employment in abroad countries.

Best Wishes!

Does automation and robotics has scope?

rehan18alam Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

These domains do not exist independently but rather intermingle with other domains like Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Neural Networks, etc. And yes this filed has an enormous potential provided that you do it right and from the right place. To do such professional courses you have to do them from colleges like IIT/IISC/NIT(top 10) only.

If you do such courses from rather new or low private universities you will not be able to get placements and hence no growth. Most students suffer despite having a good domain's degree because they have it from some bad college. So if you are planning to do something in robotics and AI, do it from some reputed college.

Hope this helps.

Thank You.
